A Day of Many Firsts

My first day in Hollywood was spent at Hollywood Level Three... at 5pm. Not exactly the place to be at 5pm, but still, it was a pretty cool venue. We just walked around for abit to get a taste of the area before heading back. It's one of those spontaneous things which caused us to head to Chipotle for some good burrito. Halfway through mine, I was so bloody full, and Jenny decided to offer me 5 bucks if I finished it... And Amanda offered me 2... SO I FINISHED IT. Lol I guess my inner jew is really that big. We headed down to Ktown for a 10buck all you can eat kbbq, which was the bomb diggity. We just kept heaping food and more food onto our plates lol. Yogurtland for the first time after and then we went to the Beta Haus on the row and had a night of free drinks on the rooftop with the best view of LA. Good times.

First Taste of LA.

Our first few days were pretty much spent travelling around, driving for a whole hour to reach a shopping outlet and stuff like that. I think we probably spent a bomb... or something equivalent. Lol. I went for student orientation as well, and I think it says alot when the schools most famous song is "Fight On!" and the second most famous one... is UCLA sucks. LOL AT THAT. The campus is so omegaly pretty, I am glad to be here :) We tried out a few of meggin/melin's recommendations as well, so we went to Daikokuya which I think is comparable to Santouka back home, and Soowon Galbi in Ktown. I think I might be heading back to Ktown today with a couple of my friends... this time for a $10 bbq, just because we are students on a budget. Life is all good.

So... I know that we Singaporeans make up a lot of words and everything. I just didn't know that "squeezy" was one of them. I was trying to tell my friends something today and I said squeezy and they were like WHAT?!?!? WHAT IS THAT. All these people missing out on the awesomeness that is our made up language. LAWL.

In other news,
- I went for an Asian Sorority Rush today. It was a pretty interesting experience I guess? Nothing beats @11ofus though. Nothing.
- Lailin got the present that I sent (VS BABEHXX), with a very awesome message written inside. She whatsapped me the moment she got it, to say how much she loved it. Which made me feel all warm and squiggly inside. So that was that.
- I don't have a car, so I'm buying everything on Amazon, Walmart, as well as the thousand other websites that can ship to my dorm. In typical Singapore kiasu style, I researched on all the available coupons before ordering (something I learnt from Meggin). Ho ho ho. I think I saved like more than a hundred bucks this way. It is awesome stuff.
- My professors are FINEEE. Trololol. Esp my BUAD 310 one. Schweet.
- My whole suite is awesome, I am SO lucky!! Happy days, happy days.
MELBOURNE

Melbourne was our last stop. We had a mini stopover in Canberra (much longer that we anticipated it would be). So the story goes that we forgot to book our bus till the night before, and when we wanted to book it, only Suyi could get on cause the bus was jam packed! So we both went on an earlier bus that would have a 2hour transit at Canberra. All is fine... till they kick us out at 103o at Canberra cause it's a "private" building and we can't be in there. And 1 hour later... the bus is delayed for 2 hours. So we're sitting there in 4deg cel weather for like 4 hours. FAAACKKKK. But anyway, apart from that it was all cool. We bunked in with tian for 3 nights? It was pretty awesome, we slept on her couch, made her skip some lectures and basically just discovered yet another big city. Suyi and tian are such bitches when they are together tho, I didn't wanna play Cluedo anymore, and they pushed me off the bed... AND THEN LAUGHED. Who does that!!!!!! I had a huge gash and now, a battle scar to prove their evilness... Idiots :(

SYDNEY

As hesitant as we were to leave Byron, we were looking forward to Syd cause we get to meet up with Hannah!! yay and supri :) Lawlz, so we were walking along the street to buy some stuff and suddenly I see the back of the head of this blond and i'm like... this head looks so so familiar. Turns out it was Hannah & Lucy that we met in Surfers so that was pretty cool haha. We went to Hannah's place at Kogorah(?) and had a barbeque and some drinks after that. It was a pretty chill night. We basically found our way to alot of the markets (which weren't as cool as the one at Surfers :( they didn't have feathers!!!) as well as the HUGE aroma festival which i must admit, was pretty damn cool.

AQUALOOP.

 - Aqualoop

Holy mother of god, this ride looks so bloody intense!! Even better than the Wedgie that we sat at Whitewater world at Gold Coast oh my lord. Aqualoop: This one is going into my bucket list.

BYRON BAY

Byron is by far our favouritest place ever. We hopped off the bus, and Suyi once again managed to get us lost despite having the GPS in one hand... AND stopping by the road for a good 10 minutes trying to figure out which direction we were headed in. Champs. We settled on Aquarius which is probably the smartest thing ever, cause dinner is free when you buy a drink. And it's Happy hour OH YEAH. Life is good at aquarius. We did so many things when we were there, Diving (17deg water, not warm, at all). Everyone else saw the huge 3m long nurse shark, but (like I always do) I managed to miss it. And by the time I realised what it was... it was long gone. Just not fated :( We went dolphin kayaking which was AWESOME just that the surf waves were fuckin omegaly ass huge. We capsized and floated all the way back... and to start all over again. Fackkkk. We headed to Nimbin the next day (WHOOHOO) and then went to probably the trippiest museum we could ever find. That museum was some weird shit. So we were walking along the beach towards the light house, thinking, oh my if we saw a rainbow right now it was would be awesome since we just went to rainbow town!! AND GUESS WHAT WE SAWWWW :) The rest of the night was pretty much awesome as well. I forgot which one it was at that we got super drunk (Hello Karaoke Night) and lay on the road looking at stars. That was nice.

SURFERS PARADISE.

We headed over the Dreamworld early in the morning and it was hella fun. Suyi REFUSED to take the tower of terror OR the giant drop with me, it's a good thing we went again on Sunday with Jen and Hannah and they took it with us! Suyi's rationale is the stupidest I've ever heard, this girl bungee jumped and sky dived but refuses to take some lame ass rollercoasters. Say whut?!?!?! Surfers is also where we first met a bunch of people who became more than just acquaintances :) We were so bloody exhausted from waking at 6am and a whole day of Dreamworld but it's a good thing we changed our minds and headed out cause it was one of THE best nights we had. ~~~*** GOOOON ~*~*~*~* I honestly don't think it tastes THAT bad but well... when you've drank alot of it, not so cool. We went for a pub crawl the night after that which was pretty fun (cue Diane and her pole dancing skills wtf), and then just chilled with the rest on our last night. One of our favouritest places ^^
Things that I will need some time getting used to:

Inches, feet, miles, fahrenheit: HOW LONG IS THAT HOW HOT IS THAT!!!?
It's so so annoying cause I'm trying to tell people how hot singapore is and they're like... so how much is that in fahrenheit?? I'm like, SIGH.

Okay I thought there was more, but apparently not. I pretty much love the weather here, it's nice and hot in the day and cold at night. SCHWEET. Met all my suitemates and we've been hanging for the past 2 days... I can safely say I'm gonna have an awesome year!

FIGHT ON BIATCHES.

BRISBANE.

One of those places and nights that we don't ever wanna relive. LAWL. So Suyi and I rented bikes to explore the city of Bris (cause I insisted) but turns out that was like the worst decision I could have made. Ever. The started out fine, we went along the Bris bridge and had a pretty awesome time. We even got free tickets to DRAGQUEENSLAND. And then... suyi almost got hit by a car whilst trying to cycle on the road (which I yelled at her for) and then we took a wrong turn and had to PUSH our 50kg bikes up an extremely steep hill. Even the dudes on road bikes were going so slowly and cycling likea biatch. Yeah, not so fun. That, and we both decided that we don't like big cities.
